Correa's scheme for housing in Belapur is characterised by a broader range or options for housing sizes and types that range from single-room huts measuring just 17 square meters to two-storey townhouses up to 75 square meters all simple brick and tiled roof constructions that local masons and contractors could easily build with minimal expertise and supervision. Seven of these dwellings come together in the following scale to form a cluster grouped around a courtyard that measures 8 by 8 meters. Roughly four of these clusters are then mirrored, rotated and repeated to create the following scale, which creates a cluster that measures 48 by 48 metres and contains approximately 24 dwellings. Through this clustering system, Correa creates complex fractal patterns at the scale of the urban layout that, at the largest scale, forms a neighborhood for 600 families on a roughly six- hectare site, complete with providing schools, health clinics, open spaces and other amenities
