Within the Addis Ababa Living Lab project in Ethiopia a pilot project will be designed by Mecanoo architecten (Delft) & RAAS Architects (Addis Ababa).

The design will be powered by research and design of students of the accompanying Master Courses (MSc3/4)

The Federal Housing Corporation, Addis Ababa, has commited itself to make a building-site available and be responsible for the construction.

Next to student design-projects and research, scholarly articles and publications, the core content of the PAD database exists of well-documented examples of affordable housing worldwide, from the past hundred years.

PAD is an ongoing growing source of knowledge with practical examples and aims to give a fresh impetus to innovative affordable housing design.
